Generic Name: Maxing Shigan San

【Main Ingredients】Ephedra (Ephedra sinica), Bitter apricot kernel (Prunus armeniaca), Gypsum (Gypsum Fibrosum), Licorice (Glycyrrhiza uralensis).

【Characteristics】 This product is a pale yellow powder with a slight aromatic odor and pungent, bitter, astringent taste.
【Functions】 Clears heat, diffuses lung qi, and relieves wheezing.
【Indications】 Lung-heat induced cough.

Symptoms include fever with or without sweating, restlessness, coarse cough, thirst with scanty urine, red tongue with thin white or yellow coating, and floating-slippery-rapid pulse.
